#Quite
quite has two meanings:
- less then ‘very’ but more than ‘a little’
- ‘completely’
we use quite + adjective or adverbs (don’t use quite + noun)
we use in this way:
quite a nice girl = (less than ‘very’ but more than ‘a little’ nice girl)
quite a good boy = (less than ‘very’ but more than ‘a little’ good boy)
quite cold
quite hot
quite means ‘completely’ with a 15 words, which you have to remember:
sure, certain, right, wrong, true, safe, clear, obvious, different, unnecessary, incredible, extraordinary, amazing, impossible
with agree it means the same ‘completely’
I quite agree = I completely agree
quite sure = completely sure (not less than ‘very’ but more than ‘a little’ amazing)
quite amazing = completely amazing (not less than ‘very’ but more than ‘a little’ amazing)
